This dataset shows the expenditure on food and drink by country. Information is given on expenditure as a percentage of total income and in dollars. what you can see from the data is areas where upto 50% of total household expenditure is devoted to food. These areas tend to be poorer developing nations in Africa. The developed countries spend less, as a percentage, on food, but obviously much more in terms of actual dollars.
